greenery. Even office workers are enjoying the
benefits of nature with the ‘hire-a-plant’ concept. ‘Hire-a-plant’ businesses are booming, offering installation and maintenance of indoor plants on a rental basis. Researchers at the University of Technology in Sydney have found that the plant system - leaves, roots and potting media – take out Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from the air such as benzene and formaldehyde released by furnishings, carpets, photocopiers, printers and many modern building materials. The plants also contribute oxygen back into the environment. Renting indoor plants is an eco-friendly trend that is also economical and brightens up the corporate vacuum.
